Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the dominant subtype of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) affecting adults. Using gene expression profiling (GEP), these lymphomas are differentiated into germinal center B-cell (GCB) and activated B-cell (ABC) groups. Recent studies show that large B-cell lymphoma now includes new subtypes, distinguished by genetic and molecular alterations; one example is large B-cell lymphoma with an IRF4 rearrangement (LBCL-IRF4).
