Two intelligent wrapper feature selection (FS) approaches, developed using the Snake Optimizer (SO), a novel metaheuristic algorithm, are explored in this paper. Based on an S-shaped transformation function, a binary SO, termed BSO, is built to handle the binary discrete values present in the frequency space. The search space exploration of BSO is enhanced by the inclusion of three evolutionary crossover operators—one-point, two-point, and uniform—and their application is determined by a switch probability. The implementation and subsequent assessment of the two novel feature selection algorithms BSO and BSO-CV were carried out using a real-world COVID-19 dataset and an additional 23 benchmark datasets pertaining to different diseases. Evaluation across 17 datasets confirmed the experimental results: the improved BSO-CV outperformed the standard BSO in both accuracy metrics and running time. Correspondingly, the COVID-19 dataset's dimensionality is compressed by 89%, which surpasses the BSO's 79% reduction. Furthermore, the implemented operator within the BSO-CV framework enhanced the equilibrium between exploitation and exploration strategies present in the standard BSO algorithm, especially when it comes to locating and converging on optimal solutions. A comparison of the BSO-CV algorithm was conducted against cutting-edge wrapper-based feature selection methods like the hyperlearning binary dragonfly algorithm (HLBDA), the binary moth flame optimization with Levy flight (LBMFO-V3), the coronavirus herd immunity optimizer with greedy crossover operator (CHIO-GC), and four filter methods, which exhibited accuracy exceeding 90% in most benchmark datasets. Examining urban park use in Guangzhou, China, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic using multi-source spatio-temporal data, we established a set of regression models to assess contributing factors. COVID-19 caused a considerable reduction in park attendance, along with a marked increase in the disparity of spatial access. Residents' restricted mobility and the less prominent position of urban transportation contributed to a less effective city-wide deployment of parks. Simultaneously, a surge in residents' desire for nearby parkland highlighted the significance of community parks, which further amplified the consequences originating from the unequal distribution of park resources. City administrators are urged to enhance the operational effectiveness of current parks and strategically locate community parks on the urban periphery, thereby increasing accessibility. Cities with architectural similarities to Guangzhou ought to consider urban park development holistically, differentiating their strategies based on sub-city variations to mitigate disparities, both during and after the current pandemic.

The moderators, designated as 'Wall Guides', were interviewed about their daily roles, the positive and negative experiences they witnessed on the platform, and the methods they use to handle issues such as lack of engagement and inappropriate content. After qualitative thematic analysis, involving consensus coding, the data were examined to ascertain final results and representative themes. Twenty moderators' participation in this study included narrating their experiences and efforts to follow a consistent, shared method for addressing usual circumstances in the online community. The online community fostered deep connections among its members, characterized by helpful and thoughtful interactions, and members found satisfaction in observing the recovery progress of fellow members. Their reports detailed the occasional surfacing of aggressive, sensitive, or inconsiderate comments and posts on the platform. Maintaining 'house rules' necessitates either removing or editing the offending post, and simultaneously reaching out to the injured party. Lastly, a considerable number of people discussed the approaches they had developed to boost community engagement and provide every member with support within the platform's context. This research highlights the need for skilled moderators in online peer support platforms, providing a framework for the development and implementation of future training programs for prospective peer support moderators. The difficulty lies in creating a diagnostic process that accurately and dependably assesses young children's functional domains, acknowledging the widespread presence of co-occurring childhood adversities and their influence on these domains.
This study aimed to evaluate a diagnostic assessment for FASD in young children, employing the Australian Guide to FASD Diagnosis. Two specialist FASD clinics in Queensland, Australia, received ninety-four referrals for assessment of children, aged three to seven, with either confirmed or suspected prenatal alcohol exposure.
A prominent risk profile was observed among children, with 681% (n=64) having contact with child protection services, and a high percentage being in kinship (n=22, 277%) or foster (n=36, 404%) care. A significant portion of the children, forty-one percent, were Indigenous Australians. The vast majority (649%, n=61) of the children studied met the standards for FASD, with a further 309% (n=29) identified as being at risk for FASD. A comparatively small number, 43% (n=4) of the children, did not receive an FASD diagnosis. For the brain domain, a mere 4 (4%) children received a severe rating.
